Were jamming tunes practical tips to unjam your photocopier
Weâre jamming tunes practical tips to âunjamâ your photocopier Youâve been preparing all week for the most important meeting of your career. Youâve prepared your speech, created an amazing slide show, you just need your handouts. You lean against the photocopier and let out a deep sigh as you congratulate yourself on your mammoth achievement. Youâve arrived. Youâve pulled it out of the bag. Youâre enjoying the sweet sound of the photocopier paper as it slides from the tray, and journeys through to the exit tray with your hard work shining all over it. It gives you a warm fuzzy feeling. Just as youâre anticipating how your mega sales pitch will go, the photocopier dies. Thereâs a paper jam. The warm fuzzy feeling is replaced by a feeling of rising panic. While you are telling yourself to keep calm, all practical skills escape you. You try switching the photocopier off at the wall (itâs the done deal for any office equipment, and it seems to solve a whole multitude of computer related issues, so why not the photocopier), but thereâs no joy. While trying to talk yourself out of a panicked state, your alter ego starts humming Bob Marleyâs Jamming. Oh, the irony. Here, Lloyd Wells â" working together with PBS Group has put together a foolâs guide for resolving those pesky paper jams, as well as an eclectic selection of songs to keep you amused. How to fix a paper jam in your photocopier Donât resend your print job, and definitely donât walk away and leave it â" thatâs bad office etiquette. Itâs the same as leaving no toilet paper in the loo. Check the screen on your photocopier for the location of the jam, and where to open and access it. If your photocopier doesnât tell you that information, open the cover of the machine, as well as the paper tray to ascertain where the paper has jammed. Turn off the copier before trying to remove the paper. Gently pull the paper in the opposite direction it has been fed into the photocopier. Itâs important to do this bit gently and slowly to avoid tearing the paper. Tugging will almost certainly rip the paper. Inspect the area of the jam for any paper fragments. if there are any remove with a pair of tweezers. Check the rollers for any damage and make sure thereâs nothing there that could snag the paper and cause another jam. Close the machine and replace the paper tray. Turn it back on. Reset the machine according to the display screen. The display screen will typically tell the user which buttons to press to cancel the jam message. If thereâs still a problem, contact your photocopier specialist. Any damaged parts may need to be replaced. If our foolâs guide hasnât helped, here are our best âcopierâ tunes to listen to while you wait for the engineer. 10 Jamminâ tunes to keep you amused Bob Marley: Jamminâ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qRN8HoZtbo https://youtu.be/_qRN8HoZtbo Talking Heads: Paper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S-TxHxPVdtc https://youtu.be/S-TxHxPVdtc Adam and the Ants: Xerox Machine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUrXVyWEspg https://youtu.be/hUrXVyWEspg Annie Lennox: Whiter Shade of Pale https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJIVz9nYx7I Illy: Papercuts (feat. 7 Ways to End an Interview - Algrim.co
7 Ways to End an Interview - Algrim.co Ending an interview is an art form. It is one of the strongest forms of showing your business etiquette and previous business experience. This final interaction shows your employer that you know how to close meetings in impactful and presentable ways. The end of an interview is important for you as a job seeker because it determines whether or not youâll move onward with the stages of the interview process. And while small, knowing how to close an interview or the âthank youâ email method can make or break your chances of getting employed. There are seven professional ways to close an interview. And with the example closing statements provided below, you can put these methods into action for yourself. The Methods of Closing An Interview (How to End an Interview) The Arthur J. Kania School of Management outlines seven telling methods for closing an interview. They are described as the following: Summary Close: Where you provide the interviewer with a synopsis of your previous work experience. Direct Close: If you want the job, then ask for it. Being direct. Balance Sheet Close: Remind your interviewer of your strengths or core competencies and how your background fits in with the organization. Compliment Close: Remind your interviewer about the portions of the job that interest you and show your passion. Standing-Room-Only Close: Risky move, but if you received an offer from another company, inform the interviewer of that before you leave. Testimonial Close: Remind your interviewer of a compliment you received from a customer, management team member, or colleague. Trial Close: Offer to demonstrate your abilities and skills that apply to the job. The only two methods that you should cautious of are the âStanding-Room-Only Closeâ and âTrial Closeâ. In these two methods, you should only use them when you feel you are at risk of either getting too low of an employment offer or not getting the job offer altogether. The âTrial Closeâ tells the employer that you feel you are a strong candidate, but that they cannot see it. And the âStanding-Room-Only Closeâ is when you feel overly confident about getting the job but want a stronger offer. Closing Statement Examples Here is how you can close the interview using each of the methods described above. Summary Close âThis was an incredible interview. I wanted to share that in 2016 I was part of the team that helped add 23% net sales to our sales department by deploying the Salesforce CRM. I felt it was impactful to share that with you based on our conversation today. And I would be more than happy to share more with you by email if you need it.â Direct Close âI appreciate our discussion today. I feel very compelled towards this company. And I want you to know that I feel extremely passionate about receiving this position. Please let me know what I can provide to help you and ensure I get this position.â Balance Sheet Close âThis was an incredible discussion. It seems like from the discussion, the job requires a significant amount of team building. I wanted to share that in 2016, I was able to add over 13 new engineers to our staff. And I would be more than happy to share more metrics like that if you need them.â Compliment Close âIâm so passionate about team building, project management, and collaboration. Which are all north stars of this position. Please let me know what you need from me to help make a decision.â Standing-Room-Only Close âBefore we move forward I want to inform you I have received a significant offer from one of your competitors. And I want to be fully transparent about that. Iâd love to move forward with this company but the offer is lucrative and that is having an impact on my decision making. I hope you can understand.â Testimonial Close âBefore we depart, I can tell from our conversation that customer service is important in this role. Iâd be more than happy to share testimonials and compliments Iâve received from our customers in my previous position.â Trial Close âI have a sense that from this conversation you might not be sold on my abilities to perform this job. And thatâs okay. There are weak points in my resume that allude to that. I would be more than happy to perform a one-week unpaid trial here so you can see my abilities. Iâd really love to pursue this position.â
